Using RightSourceRx and RightSourceRx Specialty
Q: Why does my specialty medication come in a 30-day supply?
A: Care management is important with specialty medications. It's common for doctors to adjust dosage of specialty medications based on your condition, lab work, or weight. Keeping these medications in 30-day supply allows monthly care management, so you get the right drug at the right dose.
Q: How do I order a refill for my specialty medication?
A: We'll remind you each month – about a week before it's time to refill your specialty medication – to schedule a convenient time for delivery. These monthly calls give you a chance to ask questions, make sure you have the medication you need, and reinforce guidelines for care.
Also, your doctor can submit prescription orders by phone, fax, or electronically.
Q: How will RightSourceRx Specialty deliver my medication?
A: RightSourceRx Specialty will package your order and urgently deliver it to the location you choose.
- Your specialty care coordinator will work with you to set up the appropriate delivery time each month.
- We'll include administrative supplies – such as syringes – at no additional cost.
- When necessary, we'll deliver medications in temperature-controlled packaging.
- You may have to sign a package receipt to accept your delivery. If you have concerns about this, please discuss the policy with your specialty care coordinator.
Q: What if my delivery is late or missing?
A: If you don't receive your order on schedule, please contact us immediately so we can respond right away. Your specialty care coordinator can assist you during regular business hours, Monday to Friday: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Eastern time. After business hours, follow the directions on our toll-free automated line and a pharmacist or nurse will return your call.
Q: What if I need an emergency delivery for my medication?
A: During regular business hours, Monday to Friday: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Eastern time, your specialty care coordinator can make urgent shipping arrangements. After business hours, follow the directions on our toll-free automated line and a pharmacist or nurse will return your call.
Q: How do I check my order status?
A: Our specialty care coordinators are happy to give you order status updates.
Q: Does RightSourceRx Specialty accept returns?
A: To comply with federal and state law, and to ensure the integrity of medications we dispense, all RightSourceRx Specialty sales are final. We can't give credit or refunds for returned medications or supplies that were properly dispensed.
Q: What should I do if I experience side-effects or have a question about my medication?
A: Our nurses and pharmacists are familiar with your treatment and are experienced at collaboration with doctors. We're available to answer your questions and listen to your concerns.
Q: Will RightSourceRx Specialty ever contact my doctor?
A: Yes, we may need to contact your doctor to:
- Respond to concerns or questions about your prescriptions
- Gather documentation for prior authorizations
- Discuss possible drug allergies or interactions with other medications you take
- Consult with your doctor to identify whether an alternative medication might be appropriate for you
Q: What if my medication requires prior authorization?
A: Humana Clinical Pharmacy Review (HCPR) must approve drugs requiring prior authorization or quantity limits before RightSourceRx Specialty can fill the prescription. RightSourceRx Specialty helps take care of your Humana prior authorization paperwork. Specialty care coordinators have access to important Humana member information, and can make sure your doctor has everything needed so the authorization request can be processed quickly.
Q: What guidance can I expect from the Specialty Nurses at RightSourceRx Specialty Pharmacy?
A: Eligible members have a one-on-one relationship with a Specialty Nurse who can help you manage your health condition, encourage you to take and/or administer your medication, and provide education, tips for managing side effects and a personalized plan of care. The guidance provided by Specialty Nurses isn’t meant to replace or interfere with the care you receive from your doctor - our nurses are an additional resource to help you manage your treatment effectively. Based on your needs, they may also refer you to other Humana programs and services, as appropriate.
Q: How much will my medication cost at RightSourceRx Specialty?
A: RightSourceRx Specialty medications are priced according to the structure of your Humana pharmacy or medical benefits. The actual cost of your drug is determined when it's processed at RightSourceRx Specialty. The cost is based on your Humana benefits, the specific quantity, strength, and dosage of the drug, and the order in which we process your prescriptions. You can contact RightSourceRx Specialty directly if you have any questions. Our specialty care coordinators are happy to give you a cost estimate.
Q: How do I find out if my medication is covered by my plan?
A: You can find specific drug coverage information by reviewing your Humana benefit materials, or your specialty care coordinator can help review your Humana benefits on the phone.
Q: How do I pay for my order?
A: Your payment options include your HumanaAccess® Visa® Debit Card, or any other Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, personal check, check by phone, or money order. Please don't send cash. To help avoid processing errors, please write your Humana ID number on all checks and money orders.
Q: What are my payment options as a member of a qualified State Pharmaceutical Assistance Plan (SPAP)?
A: If you're an SPAP member, please contact your program to verify that RightSourceRx Specialty will coordinate with that program.
Q: I'm also taking a maintenance medication; can I order other medications by mail, too?
A: Yes, you can order up to a three-month supply of maintenance medications with RightSourceRx, Humana's preferred prescription home-delivery service. Read more about the convenience and savings online at About RightSourceRx.
Q: What is the difference between RightSourceRx and RightSourceRx Specialty?
A: RightSourceRx Specialty and RightSourceRx are mail-order pharmacies owned by Humana. These pharmacies store different inventory, use their own ordering systems, and are in separate locations. If you use both mail-order pharmacies, your orders will be shipped individually and you will receive separate invoices.
- RightSourceRx works best for maintenance medications - a medication you plan to take for a long time - because you get up to a three-month supply in every order. It is convenient to order refills just four times a year by using the available self-service options: refill online or use the automated phone line 1-800-379-0092, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You'll receive notifications to order your refill from RightSourceRx by email or phone.
- RightSourceRx Specialty will typically send your specialty medication every month, or as determined by your doctor. We'll work closely with your doctor, help you stay on track with your treatment and offer suggestions to help manage medication side-effects. You'll be contacted by a RightSourceRx specialty care coordinator about a week before its time to refill your specialty medication.
